Project: BIONetZero
The path towards climate-neutral production with biosolutions for the agrifood and energy-intensive industries
BIONetZero is a European programme supporting the transition towards more sustainable, resource efficient and climate-neutral production systems. By promoting the development and adoption of innovative biosolutions, the project aims to reduce Europe’s dependency on critical raw materials and technologies while strengthening resilience, competitiveness and green growth across key industries.
Innovation and green transition through biosolutions
BIONetZero is a European innovation and acceleration programme supporting SMEs and startups developing biosolutions for the agrifood and energy-intensive industries. The programme combines financial support, mentoring, networking opportunities and access to experts, investors and technology providers to help companies accelerate the development, validation, commercialisation and internationalisation of innovative solutions.
What does the programme offer?
Throughout the programme, participating companies gain access to:
- Financial support through a staged grant scheme
- Individual mentoring and strategic guidance
- Access to experts, technology providers and test facilities
- Networking and matchmaking activities across Europe
- Investor engagement and market opportunities
- Internationalisation support for selected companies
BIONetZero stages
BIONetZero supports companies through several development stages:
Stage 1: Travel grant (up to EUR 3,500)
Participation in the BIONetZero kick-off activities and networking events.
Stage 2: Tech grant (up to EUR 15,000)
Support for testing, validation and further development of promising biosolutions.
Stage 3: Implementation grant (up to EUR 40,000)
Support for activities that strengthen market readiness, scale-up and commercialisation.
Stage 4: Internationalization booster (up to EUR 5,000)
Support for selected companies seeking to enter new international markets.

BIONetZero is coordinated by Food & Bio Cluster Denmark and implemented together with CLIB (Germany), Bioeconomy Cluster (Slovakia) and Smart Food Cluster (Lithuania).
