ROADMAP 2030-2050

Towards a climate-neutral, sustainable and competitive Danish agri-food sector

The Food & Bio Cluster Denmark Roadmap 2030-2050 provides a strategic knowledge framework for the transformation of Denmark’s agri-food system towards the climate, environmental, and biodiversity targets for 2030 and 2050. The roadmap addresses climate mitigation and adaptation, environmental sustainability, biodiversity, resource efficiency, animal welfare, healthy diets, and com-petitiveness within an integrated systems perspective.

It builds on earlier roadmap versions and reflects major political, technological, and societal developments, including the Danish Green Tripar-tite Agreement, the Danish Climate Act, evolving EU agricultural policy, and the rapid development of digital and biological technologies.

Roadmap tracks

The updated roadmap is organised into six mutually interdependent tracks that provide a coherent framework for linking technological innovation with societal, regulatory, and market-driven change across the entire value chain:

  • Agri-food systems

  • Animal production

  • Plant Production

  • Multifunctional land use

  • Biosolutions

  • Cross-Cutting Themes

Across all six tracks, the roadmap systematically describes current status, key knowledge gaps and needs, and critical inflection points towards 2030 and 2050.

With the new roadmap, we aim to strengthen the strategic foundation
for action in a rapidly changing political,
economic, and technological context
