IMPACT FRAMEWORK

Impact Framework sets direction for the green transition

The Food & Bio Cluster Denmark Impact Framework guides how we strategically work with our project portfolio.

The framework describes how the Food & Bio Cluster Denmark mission partnership and projects contribute to achieving the long-term goal of a climate-neutral Danish agri-food sector by 2050 while strengthening nature, the environment, and a competitive food sector.

Going forward, the Impact Framework will guide funding towards high-impact projects, identify portfolio gaps, inform decisions on project development, and ensure strategic alignment across activities and partnerships.

Inflection points

At the heart of the framework are a set of inflection points: critical moments in the transformation of the agri-food system, where change can accelerate rapidly.

  • Methane-reducing technologies for Danish livestock production are scalable and cost-effective given regulation by 2030

  • Plant-rich diets with low-climate impact and high-quality nutrition is the first-choice for consumers by 2050

  • Nutrient-rich crop production per hectare of agricultural land reaches its highest sustainable yield, while greenhouse gas emissions are significantly reduced, and nitrogen leaching and other environmental contaminants are minimized or completely eliminated by 2045.
Net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in the Danish agricultural and food sector by 2050 – while potentially strengthening the environment, nature and a competitive food sector.

Impact Framework sets our direction

The Impact Framework guides how Food & Bio Cluster Denmark strategically work with our project portfolio. The framework describes how the mission partnership and projects contribute to achieving the long-term goal of the national roadmap.

Future calls and funding from the mission partnership will build directly on the Impact Framework, ensuring that supported projects actively contribute to accelerating the systemic transformations needed in the agri-food sector.
