From Projects to Mission Impact

Connecting projects. Building pathways. Accelerating mission impact.

How does an individual project contribute to a much bigger mission? And what does it actually mean to work with mission-driven innovation in practice?

This webinar is aimed primarily at projects in Food & Bio Cluster Denmark’s mission partnership. The first part of the programme is also open to others who are curious about the mission partnership, our approach to mission-driven innovation, and how we work with impact across a portfolio of projects.

The webinar will introduce the Mission Impact Framework and show how it connects individual project activities and results to wider system change. We will also share examples from the existing project portfolio and give a first look at findings from the Contribution Analysis, which is based partly on interviews with project leads across the mission.

The second part of the webinar is reserved for project participants and will consist of breakout sessions by Inflection Point. Here, participants will reflect on the portfolio’s collective contribution, recurring barriers and dependencies, and areas where further action may be needed.

09:00–09:10 | Welcome and introduction
Purpose of the webinar and a short introduction to the mission partnership.

09:10–09:25 | Mission-driven innovation – what does it mean in practice?
What distinguishes a mission-driven portfolio from a collection of individual projects, and why do contribution, portfolio learning and system change matter?

09:25–09:35 | Mission-driven innovation in our project portfolio
Examples of how knowledge, results and solutions are carried forward across projects and contribute to longer-term pathways towards impact.

09:35–09:50 | Introduction to the Mission Impact Framework
An introduction to the North Star, Inflection Points, Focus Areas and milestones — and how projects connect to the wider mission.

09:50-10.00: BREAK

10:00–10:15 | What are we learning from the Contribution Analysis?
Key findings on where the portfolio contributes strongly, where recurring barriers and dependencies exist, and where further action may be needed.

10:15–10:50 | Breakout sessions by Inflection Point
For project participants only. Groups will use findings from the Contribution Analysis as a starting point to reflect on collective contribution, shared barriers and important gaps or opportunities.

10:50–11:00 | Wrap-up and next steps
Key takeaways and how the Impact Framework and Contribution Analysis will be used in annual reporting and future mission activities.
