Curious about how we move feed additives from research to feed trough—and how we address the resistance that comes with it? Then this meeting is for you.

Feed Additives in Livestock Production – from potential to practice

Feed additives are often highlighted as a key to more sustainable livestock production. They can reduce methane emissions, improve feed efficiency, and strengthen animal health. But the path from promising technology to practical application is complex.

Projects like BioFed and MABICOW demonstrate new possibilities for biologically targeted and methane-reducing solutions. At the same time, the debate is growing. The use of additives faces resistance and concerns—from producers, buyers, and consumers—and raises questions about regulation, documentation, and practical feasibility.

At the upcoming livestock network meeting, we will focus on the role of feed additives in the green transition and the barriers that must be overcome. Through presentations, project cases, and a workshop, we will map out the critical interfaces and discuss how we as a network can help drive development forward.
